Three features included on almost every cell phone are easy to access and help manage cell phone usage.

Cell phones these days are loaded with options and features that most people don’t use because they just haven’t learned all of the right keys to push or the right menu options to select.

Three valuable features and utilities that almost all cell phones have these days inlcude ways to save cell phone battery power, programs to add phone numbers from the received call list to the address book or to the speed dial list and cameras.

Usage tips and tricks for each are detailed below.

How to Conserve Cell Phone Battery Power

One way to conserve cell phone’s battery power is to reduce the brightness of the screen. To access the screen brightness options, go to the device’s Settings or Options menu selection. Select the screen option. Reduce the amount for backlight brightness and you can also reduce the time for backlight timeout.

Another way to save battery power is to use the Auto On/Off features. Go to the settings or options on your phone’s menus system and select the Auto On/Off feature. Enter in the time of the weekday or weekend to turn the phone on and then enter the times to turn the phone off.

How to Save Time When Looking for Phone Numbers with Address Book and Speed Dial

Use the address book on a cell phone by easily adding phone numbers from thecall history list to the address book- either numbers thathave called or numbers of people that have called. Select the call history list on the phone. Highlight add to address book. Enter the name or company name that the number belongs to. Some phones will allow the addition of a photograph of the person.

It is also a handy feature to add phone numbers from the call lists to the speed dial options. Assign phone numbers to the speed dial options on the phone by highlighting the phone number to add to the speed dial list. Use the options menu and select then add to speed dial option. Assign the number to a number on the list.

Use the speed dial option when making a call by holding down the key you have a phone number assigned to for a few seconds and the phone will automatically dial the phone number assigned to the speed dial key.

Tips on Taking Better Photos with Cell Phone Camera

Take better photographs using the mobile camera by following a few photography rules such as those detailed below.

  1. Frame each picture using standard photography rules such as make sure nothing is blocking the view of the person or the item, make sure nothing is behind the subject and don’t put the subject in the center of the frame.
  2. Take better-lighted photographs by avoiding low-light shots. Digital cameras depend on having a bright area to photograph. Do not take pictures where the light behind the subject is brighter than the light shining on the subject. This will create a silhouette photo.
  3. Keep subjects close to the camera when using a cell phone camera. Avoid using the zoom feature because it reduces the quality of the photograph.
  4. Alter the white balance of the camera. When in camera function, press the options menu to get to the white balance feature and adjust the white balance accordingly. The items that are white in the photo should be as white and clear as possible.

It is amazing the possibilities smartphones bring to our lives. It is not only the built in 5 Mp camera or a intelligent adress book. The main thing is that we can even open a bank account via Internet or use the handheld device as a credit card to pay our bills within seconds. The problem is that the more a mobile phone and a PC are alike, the more the risk to be attacked by a virus or a hacker. As the mobile phones store more delicate data anyone with a gadget like that is exposed to the ciberburglars, because the mobile Internet connection is not fully secure yet. For avoiding it, the main antivirus manufacturers have an antivirus for mobiles phones, but as it has proven not to be enough, a group of spanish scientist are working on the first quantum distribution network compatible with the current network. It will be imposible for hackers to decipher the exchanging data between cell phones. It is due to be set in 2010. Will it be the ultimate security solution?
